I have begun writing a piece called Flirt for flute and marimba, for an ex-coworker and a friend of hers.

I can only hope it will turn out as sexy as I want it to be.

Is there an occasion, or are you just being flirtatious? (In which case a recorder or oboe might be more appropriate - or bassoon, depending.)

I just think the flute sounds really sexy in its lowest range, and wanted to write something to reflect that. We'll see if I can make it work.
