Had a talk today with my employers, and I will be phased off of transcribing and arranging Christian rock as they bring other people up to speed. I'll still be checking others' work, as I (currently) have the best ear of anybody there, but that's much less soul-crushing. Thank the Lord.

Well, maybe not the Lord.

Dude, what sort of job is that?? I seem to be behind on your employment news.

And, good for you for speaking up. :)

I started working at a music engraving company about a year and a half ago, and it's a decent gig; flexible PT hours, a fairly relaxed atmosphere, and work that's mentalling undemanding.

A few months ago, though, a publisher approached them about doing transcribing/arranging, and I and a couple other guys had the skills...and things got pretty miserable. Thankfully, it will be (mostly) over soon.

What about the listening to music thing?

I doubt they'll budge on it, but I have occasional ways around it, and it's pretty relaxed otherwise, so...
