I don't know enough theory to criticize, but I will say that this is a really neat idea. It would explain part of what I've often wondered, which is why much Eastern music sounds so different (I know some of it is played using different systems, but I wonder where those systems originate).

It also echoes, in a way I haven't really seen done, ideas about other forms of Western art, especially filmmaking, which express their stories in a similar manner.
