Me: Seared Foie Gras with Confit of Duck in Brioche, Wisconsin Dried Cherry Gastrique

This is the best thing I've eaten in a while, like a popover soaked in duck juice, filled with duck, mushrooms, and a light cherry sauce, topped with meat butter.

This was also really tasty, light and summery, with the best tomato-based sauce I can remember having.

Entree

Me: Grilled Tenderloin of Beef, Bordelaise Style, Roasted Asparagus & Horseradish Whipped Potato

This was excellent, but I regret not ordering something more unusual. I would have preferred [livejournal.com profile] sigerson's choice, but I just couldn't bring myself to order duck for both halves of my meal.

She won this round. The duck skin was perfect, crunchy and lined with fat that melted in your mouth.
