I'm going to go ahead and say it.

Lady Gaga is a genius.

Not a musical one -- she occupies the same space as, say, ABBA, making gruesomely catchy dance hits.

Rather, I think she's totally brilliant at hacking culture, and at manipulating public pop consciousness.

Put another way, I see her as a masterful performance artist whose medium is fame itself.

In other news...

3 Doors Down is emo-y rock. "It's Not My Time" isn't unpleasant, just ephemeral.

"Control" is a pretty good song, with an awesome bass part.

As for The Subways, "Rock N Roll Queen" gets old fast, but I really liked "Oh Yeah". From their sound I thought they were an early '80s outfit, but they're actually fairly recent.

Also, I don't know why anyone would want to sing along to Cartman singing along to "Poker Face", but our CEO wanted it, so there it is.
